THE CASTLE OF BEAUVOIS
The history of Château de Beauvois begins in the 15th century when it was built. Formerly called "Domaine de Beauvais", which meant "Château du beau Vallon", it was acquired in the 17th century by Duke Charles Albert de Luynes, great falconer and favorite of King Louis XIII, who assiduously frequented the area for game hunting parties on the grounds of the estate. Sold twice to large French families, the Château was partly destroyed during the French Revolution of 1789. Its round tower, in the center of the two wings, escaped destruction and today bears witness to its history through its sixth-century architecture. Renamed "Chateau de Beauvois" in 1966, it now belongs to La Maison Younan, which works to revive the splendor of the Château of yesteryear by opening its doors to those who wish to experience exceptional moments within its walls.
